Choosing Paint on Your Boat

Choosing Paint on Your Boat

Choosing paint on your boat is an important issue. Choosing the right color and paint is important when painting the boat. If these are selected correctly, your ship will have a clean and beautiful appearance. After deciding on the type of paint and the appropriate paint color, it is necessary to apply the paint towards the surface of the boat. The new paint should not be applied to the hull unless the hull is cleaned. If polyurethane paints are to be used, this should be taken into consideration. Since the dyes have different chemical structures and properties, the wrongly selected and applied dyes will damage the underlying dye.

The paint on the bottom will break up and blistering will occur on the top. Taking into account the external factors, the type of paint to be applied to different parts of the boat should be determined in advance. It is useful to note the following when choosing a color:

• White color reflects sunlight too much, is preferred by many sailors but the cleaning process will be difficult because of this reflecting feature. Dirt and dirt coming from the sea and sticking out of the boat was very difficult to clean.

• In sunny weather, the paint of a dark boat will attract the sun and these areas will be hot due to the heat. This will cause the paint to crack and break over time. Dark colors should not be used, especially on wooden boats.

• The bright colors used in the topcoat make it possible to detect a slight deterioration. The choice of paint on your boat is a difficult issue and needs to be emphasized with precision.
