Bollards and Lochas

Bollards and Lochas

You've seen two iron columns close to each other on the deck of the ship. These short columns are found on decks to tie ropes and wires. These columns called the bollards, tie the boat to the dock. Sometimes bollards are used to connecting ships. Bollards can be all over the ships, especially at the top and aft.

Anchor chains are available for lochas. The iron chain flows through the groove opening to the head to accommodate the iron body. This groove is called a loch.

There are bollards and boats from every ship and watercraft. Although they are small metal materials, their function is very big. They are the equipment needed to keep the ship in place.
